Operations Director                                                                                                                      £50,000 – £60,000 (dependent on experience)

Hours 37.5 per week. Based in Burton upon Trent but travel to other sites essential

BAC O’Connor have an incredibly rare and exciting opportunity for an Operations Director to join us – an award winning organisation which offers support to individuals with drug and alcohol problems in a range of settings including detoxification and residential rehabilitation, recovery housing, social enterprises and community based therapeutic services.

Reporting into the Chief Executive, you will be accountable for ensuring that our community services in Stoke on Trent and Wigan & Leigh are delivered to the highest standards and meet our statutory and contractual obligations and through working collaboratively with our Registered Manager in Burton upon Trent ensure the day to day operations are managed effectively within our residential services.

The role includes responsibility for delivering strategy, leading a management team, contract management, performance monitoring, business development, control of resources, quality, safeguarding and safety, risk management and being part of an experienced and long-standing management team.

About you

  • 2 years’ experience in a senior role preferably in the health & social care sector – experience of leading services in the substance misuse field is beneficial but not essential
  • Proven track record in improving service delivery and implementing quality assurance systems
  • Proven experience of senior management with the ability to build, inspire, motivate and manage teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a track record of building effective relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and a dispersed workforce
  • Demonstrable experience in successfully managing publicly funded contracts, working with lead providers and local authority commissioners
  • Managing and successfully delivering organisational/service change and development
  • Experience of designing and developing services to meet new and emerging needs
  • An entrepreneurial approach to developing new business, diversifying income and expanding services with experience of being involved in tendering and bidding for contracts
  • Experience of working with regulatory frameworks including CQC
  • Experience of reporting at Executive and Board level
  • Experience of managing and leading teams across multiple site locations
