We are a leading provider of abstinent based residential substance misuse rehabilitation services in Staffordshire.
An exciting opportunity has arisen and we are seeking to recruit a highly motivated GP with special interest in substance misuse. The post holder will work closely with Senior Managers and other consultants to contribute towards local service development.
This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic and confident GP to join our vibrant, dynamic and professional services. The GP will provide quality health care and treatment for patients with substance misuse issues. It is expected that the post holder will embrace New Ways of Working in their clinical practice.
You will be responsible for providing direct clinical input at a specialist level to individuals who have drug and alcohol dependence. Working alongside our multi-disciplinary medical team consisting of a Nurse Medical Prescriber, Nurse Manager and a team of RMN’s / RGN’s you will provide assessment for detoxification needs, physical and mental health needs and determine the suitability for detoxification and provide input and advice regarding residential rehabilitation and resettlement programmes at The BAC O’Connor Centres in Staffordshire.
Whilst undergoing their programme, you will look after the general health needs of all patients engaged on our programme and work with external partners and professionals regarding ongoing health concerns.
You will be involved in carrying out routine Clinical Audits and systematically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and services provided within the detoxification unit and contribute to developing the clinical skills of all staff working within the Clinical team.
1 full day on-site for Clinic cover at Burton on Trent
Provide out of hours telephone support to the Clinical team (Nurse Manager, NMP and Nurses) in relation to any physical or mental health issues related to the detoxification or rehabilitation process.
Current GMC registration
Minimum five years post registration
RCGP Certificate in the Management of Drug Misuse
