The new unit is for both Drugs and Alcohol and offers a seamless care pathway into rehabilitation and community integration.
The environment offers a supported medically supervised provision for clients who do not require a traditional hospital service. The unit is a supported, medically supervised provision for clients who do not have complicating factors:- i.e. complications of physical and /or mental health, where these factors require specialist diagnosis, clinical management and nursing.
Many service users requiring detoxification do not have a supportive home environment, are homeless or feel they
therefore require a structured supportive environment. It is often more desirable, cost effective and an appropriate and effective way of taking advantage of a residential care environment whilst maximising continuous care pathways for those who wished to progress into a residential rehabilitation programme.
Our aim is to provide a seamless service. It is, therefore, important to ensure a care plan is in place from the onset of referral, partnership working and co-ordination is key at this stage.
